Life is too short to drink poor wines

Viceré gets the full right to enter the “Supertuscany” wines and gains a better score than classic wines like Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Tignanello.

Gimonda is a small family-owned company based in Terricciola (PI), a town of renowned wine making tradition, up on the hills near Pisa. Its vineyard, facing Southeast, is about four hectars wide.

Our traditional grapes, typical of the land, are Sangiovese, Canaiolo and red Colorino; Trebbiano and white Colombana. The grapes are guyot grown, thoroughly thinned out upon their ripening, and finally harvested by hand.

A controlled fermentation process follows in the next 15 to 20 days. Each step of the vinification takes place in steel and vitrified cement containers. Only Vicerè then sees further refinement, using French oak barriques.
